- New APP makes owning the all-electric Aiways U5 SUV more convenient and accessible
- Vehicle health and remote-control features available at the touch of a screen
- EV charge status and range radius easily viewed via customizable home screen
- Aiways U5 now available in six European markets; more to follow by 2022
Shanghai, Munich 30 August – Aiways has launched an innovative APP in Europe allowing U5 owners to control functionality and vehicle operation through their smartphone. This is the first APP from Aiways and underlines the brand’s ambition to make EV ownership a convenient and accessible option for European drivers.
Aiways ensured that functionality was a priority when designing the APP and focussed on ease of use and driver convenience during development. The clear and simple APP is easy to navigate and permits users to add their own shortcuts for frequently used features.
Once registered with an Aiways account, users can use the APP on any smartphone to interact with their Aiways vehicle. At the touch of a screen, Aiways U5 owners can start the engine, set air-conditioning levels, and lock or unlock the doors, tailgate, or sunroof.
The vehicle charge status, range radius and ‘locate your car’ features are all easily accessible from the APP’s home screen, enabling drivers of the zero-emission Aiways U5 to be prepared for every journey. Also on the home screen is a shortcut to a full maintenance manual, key vehicle information and useful help in certain situations. In APP video tutorials help drivers to make the most of the features available on the Aiways U5. Each short video of one or two minutes guides users through simple steps such as customizing the features display, using the advanced assistance system or parking aids.
Drivers with access to more than one Aiways U5 can view information from all their vehicles within the APP via the ‘vehicle switch’ feature. Aiways have ensured that user privacy is a top priority so while the APP can help drivers locate their vehicle, it does not store images or customer data.
Alex Klose, Executive Vice President of Overseas Operations at Aiways, commented: “Aiways’ first European APP promotes awareness of the ever-increasing popularity of EVs. The APP enables current and future owners to stay connected with their vehicle however far away they are. The Aiways team will provide users with a high-quality level of customer service, which can be requested through the APP.
“The introduction of this APP highlights Aiways’ ambitions to drive forward progressive development in all areas of vehicle ownership, not only with our models but the connected lifestyle they can provide.”
The second all-electric SUV from Aiways, the Aiways U6, is due to launch in Europe early 2022 and will also be compatible with the new APP.
