Staycation in style this summer with the Aiways U5 all-electric SUV
  • Zero-emissions driving in safety, space and style
  • Class-leading interior space allows the whole family to travel in comfort
  • 400km all-electric range for hassle-free day trips
  • Aiways to launch one new model per year, with the Aiways U6 SUV arriving in Europe early 2022

Shanghai/Munich 17 August 2021 – With international air travel down nearly a quarter on pre-pandemic levels*, it’s clear many families will be holidaying by car this summer. With this in mind, the all-electric Aiways U5 SUV is the perfect vehicle to transport the whole family away in style and comfort on zero-emission journeys where new adventures await.

With a starting price of €37,990**, the Aiways U5 offers a compelling price-to-range ratio, and can cover 400 km on a single charge which easily takes care of the range travelled by most families out on a day trip. For longer journeys, the Aiways U5 can charge from 30% to 80% in the time it takes for a lunch stop, just 27 minutes.

On such long-distance trips, the light and spacious cabin in Aiways U5 not only offers class-leading space for driver and passengers, but a trunk capacity of 432 liters (VDA) with seats up and 1555 liters with seats folded. Folded bicycles, suitcases and weekend bags are no problem for the spacious boot which can be opened via a foot sensor for added convenience when your hands are full.

Even the tallest of teenagers will be comfortable in the back seats with up to 970mm legroom and a USB charge port for gaming on the go. Younger travelers will enjoy the high seat position and mesmerizing panoramic sunroof which provides ever changing scenery.

The large infotainment screen takes the hassle out of discovering new places using sat nav guidance and better still, stops the cries of ‘are we there yet?’ from the back seats.

Parents will enjoy added peace of mind thanks to the Aiways U5’s numerous ADAS safety features, such as land departure prevention, blind-spot warning, and auto emergency braking, and I-SIZE child seat attachment units as standard.

The Aiways product offensive is picking up speed, with the international vehicle manufacturer from Shanghai bringing a new model to market every year. With the new Aiways U6 entering European markets in early 2022, Aiways will offer a fully equipped battery-electric SUV Coupé at a very competitive price. It will meet the high technical demands of modern, open-minded car buyers. The U6 also follows Aiways goal of making electromobility accessible to everyone.

* Recent figures from ForwardKeys show that the outlook for international air travel over the holiday period is set to be 23% lower than pre-pandemic levels.
