All-electric Aiways U6 interior reveal: inspired by gaming, made for fun
  • Zero-emissions driving in a sporty, safe and intelligent package
  • Debut for Aiways U6 assisted driving features
  • Mass production to start in China by year end
  • Aiways U6 coming to Europe in early 2022

Shanghai, 19 July 2021 – Chinese personal mobility provider Aiways has created something truly unique with the new Aiways U6. Targeting a younger generation, the Aiways U6 interior, revealed today for the first time in new pictures, presents a trendy design inspired by gaming and a smart cockpit full of technology, connectivity and playful features.

Without the restraints of tradition, the second all-electric SUV from Aiways has reimagined the car interior by taking inspiration from spacecraft, gaming and a hint of Formula E. Designers from China, Japan and Germany collaborated to give the Aiways U6 cabin head-turning appeal and evoke an emotional reaction. The interior package is both practical and futuristic and comes to life thanks to a choice of ‘blue and creamy white’ or ‘black and orange’ color schemes. A special edition of the Aiways U6 will offer an exclusive black and blue interior color scheme with carbon fiber details.

Wingback sport seats, a hybrid of a gaming chair and a pilot seat, envelop front passengers in comfort and style. A partnership with German audio brand Magnat has allowed Aiways to develop integrated audio headrests for an immersive sound experience. A wide cruise shift lever and 2.1m domed glass roof are reminiscent of space travel, while the steering wheel design merges the button elements from a gaming controller with the double-spoke design of a Formula E car.

The vehicle status, connectivity features and AV equipment are all controlled intuitively and within easy reach via the 14.6-inch frameless, high-definition central control screen. A second, 8.2-inch screen is positioned directly in front of the steering wheel and merges seamlessly with the air conditioning vents which sit either side. Interacting with the Aiways U6 is an easy, relaxing and game-like experience designed for those who still like to play, whatever their age.

The range of assisted driving features add to the sense of high-tech and high convenience within the Aiways U6, while enhancing safety for the driver and vehicle occupants. Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with the upgrade of Automatic Centering Control (ACC) keeps the car in the center of the lane without input from the driver. Highway Assist (HWA) keeps the vehicle at a matching pace with the vehicle in front (or at a set pace where there is no preceding vehicle) when travelling on the highway at speeds between 60 and 130 km/h. During HWA operation, drivers can also make use of the new Driver Confirmed Lane Change (DCLC) function to complete lane change automatically. Aiways has also taken care of parking in awkward spots with the addition of Remote Parking Assist (RPA) whereby the driver can use their smart phone to park the Aiways U6 from up to 10 meters away.

Fu Qiang, Founder and Chairman of Aiways, commented: “Aiways has always been motivated by smart technology and ways to improve the travel experience for all users of our vehicles. As cars gradually move away from being a mode of transportation only, we want to inspire people to experience the fun of electric mobility and the wonders of new technology.”

The Aiways U6 will offer an exceptionally high package at a sensible price and fulfil one of Aiways’ brand ambitions to make EV ownership accessible to all.

Pricing and specifications for the European version of Aiways U6 have not yet been released.
