Zurich, Switzerland, 25 November 2019 – AIWAYS, the Shanghai-based personal mobility provider, has made its public debut in Switzerland at the ‘E-Garden’ exhibition. A U5 all-electric prototype SUV is now on display at the e-mobility exhibition held at the Glattzentrum shopping center in Wallisellen, Zurich until 4 January 2020.
Hosted by the Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) and Energie 360, the pop-up ‘E-Garden’ showroom is the first of its kind in Switzerland. The showroom will be located on the lower sales level (UVE) and will offer information and advice on all matters relating to e-mobility.
Visitors to the pop-up store will get the chance to see the AIWAYS U5 SUV, which recently completed an epic journey to Frankfurt from Xi’an, China. Covering over 15,000 kilometers, the road trip set a new GUINNESS WORD RECORDS title in the process, for the ‘longest journey by an electric vehicle (prototype)’.
Alexander Klose, Executive VP Overseas Operation at AIWAYS, comments: “The ‘E-Garden’ exhibition will be an opportunity for European customers to see and experience the AIWAYS U5 before it is available to lease in selected European markets next year. We look forward to welcoming visitors to the display and showcasing the stylish and premium AIWAYS U5”.
The U5 is a statement of intent for the AIWAYS brand as it aims to bring affordable and connected zero-emissions family transport to the European market. The mid-size SUV will offer style, premium build quality and 503km battery range (NEDC).
Over two million visitors are expected to come through the doors of the Glattzentrum, one of the most popular shopping malls in Switzerland, during the ‘E-Garden’ Exhibition. The 655 sqm pop-up ‘E-Garden’ showroom will address all matters relating to e-mobility under one roof, including producing and storing electricity and charging electric vehicles.
